FAQs
01
How Does It Work?
Our LTR programmes run in blocks of five (5) weeks, with weekly sessions from 9 to 11am on Sunday mornings at our Torrens Boatshed in the city. The programme fee is $250 for all five sessions.
03
What Boat Will I Row in?
You'll have a great time learning to row in a coxed quad scull (i.e. 4 rowers, with 2 oars each, and an ARC coach in the coxswain's seat). We'll have two or three boats on the water alongside each other for each session!
05
What Do I Wear?
Tight, lightweight clothing that can get wet and that suits the weather is best. Loose, baggy clothing is a bit of hazard and a nuisance in a rowing boat as oars get tangled up in it.
A T-shirts with bike shorts or leggings is best. Footy shorts or cycling gear are also good. Also bring a pair of socks for the boat, runners/gym shoes for the rowing machine, a hat, sunscreen and a drink bottle.

3. Apply & pay for your course.
4. We'll review your application & provide written confirmation once your place is confirmed.

02
Who Can Do It?
Our LTR programme is open to anyone over the age of 16 years and who get in & out of a boat. It's for absolute beginners - no rowing experience is expected! You don't need to be super-fit, but a degree of flexibility helps!
While we can't cater for youngsters just yet, we are working on plans for a Junior LTR programme for 13 to 16 year olds in the future!
04
What Will I Learn?
You'll be taught the basics of the rowing technique, with aim of building up your crew to a mini-race on the final week! You'll also learn how to safely handle boats and oars, along with a little bit of time (but not a lot) on an indoor rowing machine (a Concept II ergo).
06
Can I Skip A Session?
Rowing is called the ultimate team sport for a reason - we'd prefer to keep boats full and crews consistent through each programme to ensure everyone get the most out of their programme. But of course, we understand life sometimes throws a curveball!
