ARC Athletes Shine On The World Stage

28 Sept 2025

We are beaming with pride as six of our best took on the world at the 2025 World Rowing Championships. Their grit, determination, and sportsmanship were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they represented club and country to the World!

🥉 Sam Stunell – PR3 Mixed Double Sculls – Bronze Medal

Sam (along with Lisa Greissl of Lake Macquarie RC) showed us all what it means to put yourself in the red zone with an inspiring, gritty and determined performance in the medal final.

With 500m to go and sitting in fourth, the Aussies unleashed a powerful, relentless and well-executed finish to not just claw back half a length, but to also row through and put a length on the Great British boat (containing the 2024 Paralympic Silver Medallists, by the way!) and claim a well-deserved Bronze medal. The race itself was taken out by Germany in a new World's Best Time (by 7 seconds), showing the quality of the competition and the ongoing evolution of para rowing.

What an amazing debut international season for Sam Stunell in 2025:

  • 2025 Under 23 World Champion in the PR3 Men's Single Scull

  • Two World Cup Silver medals in the PR3 Mixed Double

  • World Championship Bronze medal in the PR3 Mixed Double

At just 18 years, Sam has the para-rowing world at his feet!

💪 Angus Dawson – Men’s Eight – 4th Place

Angus and his crew came heartbreakingly close to the podium, finishing 4th in a fiercely contested Men’s Eight final. His drive and commitment were evident in every stroke - what an incredible effort!

🚣 Alex Hill – Men’s Four – 5th Place

Alex brought his trademark power and precision to the Men’s Four, finishing 5th in a race that demanded everything from its competitors. His experience and composure were invaluable to the crew.

🌟 Ella Bramwell – Women’s Eight – 6th Place

Ella powered through in the Women’s Eight, helping her crew secure a strong 6th place finish. Racing against elite global competition, Ella’s performance was a testament to her resilience and team spirit. We’re so proud of her leadership and strength in the boat.

🔥 Mitch Reinhard & Oscar McGuinness – Men’s Double Scull – 12th Place

Mitch and Oscar battled through the heats and semifinals to finish 12th in the Men’s Double Scull. Their journey was one of perseverance and teamwork, and we salute their courage and determination.

We can’t wait to welcome the team home, hear their stories, and celebrate their achievements in person. They have made every ARC member proud beyond words, showing Ambition, Respect & Camaraderie. 💛❤️🖤
