Success for ARCs Ella Bramwell and the Australian Women's Eight!
A huge congratulations to ARC superstar (& former Club Captain) Ella Bramwell, who has taken Gold with the Australian Women’s Eight at World Cup I in Seville.
As you would expect at World Cup level, it was a hard-fought race from the first stroke. The field came out fast and stayed tight early, with Australia making an aggressive but composed opening 500m, holding alongside the high-rating Romanian boat.
Through the middle of the race the Aussies worked their long, connected rhythm to edge ahead, doing the work and taking water when it mattered most.
Entering the final 500, they’d earned a small buffer from which the crew began to assert their authority over the field, committing right through the line to secure a well-deserved win against a quality international field - bettering all three medal-winning boats from the 2025 World Champs in Shanghai!
For ARC, it’s something pretty special to see one of our own contributing to a performance like that. Well done Ella - we couldn’t be prouder!
Also, a worthy side-note - congratulations to former ARC Coach & current Women's Olympic Head Coach for Great Britain, Andy Randell, who coached the GB W8+ to the Bronze medal as well as GB's Lauren Henry to Gold in Women's Single, which was another epic race to the line! It's always great to see past and present ARC legends succeed at the top-tier!
