President's TED Talk
There’s a great buzz around the club at the moment, and it’s coming from doing the simple things consistently, and consistently well. Boats getting on the water, crews committing to sessions, and a sense that good habits are starting to stick. It’s not flashy—but it’s exactly how crews, clubs and communities are built.
Thursday Night Social Rowing continues to be a highlight. Easy kilometres, plenty of smiles, and a reminder that rowing is meant to be enjoyed. If you haven’t jumped in for a spin on the Torrens yet, you are missing out.
At West Lakes, Big Boat Tuesdays are really starting to heat-up... literally, with a 34oC session at West Lakes on Tuesday morning!!! Big crews, good energy, and that unmistakable feeling when timing starts to click is not far off. These sessions are setting the tone for what’s possible when we commit and lock together as a Club.
With the First Grade State Championships getting closer, things are naturally sharpening up. Keep turning up, keep doing the work, and keep supporting each other—every session matters, whether you end up racing or backing the crew.
Selections for the Open Men's & Women's Eights have been run, and while not every nomination results in a seat, every effort strengthens our Club. Thank you to the selectors and everyone who put their hand up for consideration.
For our non-active members, make sure you get down to West Lakes next weekend to support our athletes from the bank. If you can't make the regatta, then pop into our Club Pasta Night on Thurs 5th and make sure our rowers know that you're behind them!
Learn to Row registrations are coming in fast, and our first programme is almost booked out! If you know someone who is keen, make sure you let them know to register ASAP - the few remaining spots won't last long!
Strong numbers, great attitudes, and a culture that values effort and enjoyment in equal measure will keep our Club moving in a positive direction. Thanks to everyone who’s putting in the time—on the water and behind the scenes.
Let’s keep the momentum going.
Mitch

Places in each block are strictly limited to 12 rowers per block, & will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis (strictly, no holds!)
The programme is open to participants over 13 years of age.
ARC Rowing Programme Ts & Cs apply.
Please share the news to anyone in your networks who might be interested. For more details, check out Learn to Row | Adelaide Rowing Club or drop us an email at learntorow@adelaiderowingclub.com.au

Adelaide Rowing Club extends its sincere thanks to the Adelaide City Council for their generous support towards re-establishing our Learn to Row program via the 2026 Community Impact Quick Response Grant programme. Council's contribution will help us introduce more people to the sport of rowing, fostering community engagement, health, and inclusion. We’re proud to partner with a council that values active lifestyles and community development.

2026 Coxing Equipment Appeal!
We're looking to quickly raise $3,000 in support of our Learn to Row programme & re-activation of rowing on the Torrens by purchasing three new coxing audio systems, including replacement speakers, harnesses & units. These systems are ~$800 a piece, and will be shared across the LTR programme, social rowing & any other crews rowing out of the Torrens. In addition, we're also looking to buy some tools to help keep our lawn under control and trimmed.
You can make a real difference to ARC by making a tax-deductible donation towards this cause via the Australian Sport Foundation!

As previously advised, older fobs for the Torrens Shed will cease to function on 31 January 2026. Eligible members have been allocated a new fob (bright green or royal blue) at no cost to you. Please come and collect your fob from the Clubrooms this Thursday night (Your last chance!)
Please note that fobs will not be sent by post & will only be issued through in-person collection. Fobs which are not collected by 31 January will be re-allocated to new members, and you might have to wait until we can get more added into circulation.
