Back to Back U23 World Championships for Sam Stunell!
A massive congratulations to Sam Stunell, who successfully defended his Under 23 World Championship from 2025 in the U23 PR3 Men's Single Scull! And Sam did so bettering his World Best Time in the process - it was a truly dominant display with a winning margin of over 100m!
Having overcome a rib injury that hampered much of his domestic season earlier this year, Sam has been in phenomenal form with a World Cup bronze in Lucerne and now a back-to-back U23 gold in Duisberg. His next stop is the (Senior) World Championships (24-20 August), where he'll be racing for Australia in the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls!

Grace & Tamara selected for World Uni Champs!
Our best wishes to Grace Barrera & Tamara Bates, who will soon be jetting off to represent Australia in the Women's Coxless Pair at the 2026 FISU World University Rowing Championships, to be held in London, Canada, from August 13.
Unlike the World Cup and World Championship teams, this is a self-funded Australian team meaning that Grace & Tamara have a substantial seat fee to cover - just to make it to the start line! In light of this, the Committee has decided to make a small contribution towards these costs on behalf of the Club, under our Athlete Support Policy.
Vale Steve Perry
Many at Adelaide Rowing Club were saddened this week by the news of Steve Perry's passing after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Steve was a highly respected member of the South Australian rowing community. As a coxswain, coach and Director of Rowing at St Peter's College and Wilderness School, he made an enormous contribution to the sport and to generations of young athletes.
Proudly an AUBC man at heart, Steve was also a valued friend of Adelaide Rowing Club. Many ARC rowers enjoyed his straight lines on the rudder strings and benefited from his calm wisdom, mentorship and coaching during State Team and Inter-Varsity campaigns throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Those connections grew into enduring friendships and companionship away from the water.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Steve's family, friends and the wider rowing community at this difficult time. Steve will be remembered not only for his accomplishments in rowing, but also for his generosity, humility and the positive influence he had on so many within our rowing community. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.
Steve's funeral will be held on Saturday 1 August at 2:30pm at St Ignatius Church, William Street, Norwood.
All family and friends, including children, are welcome to attend and support Steve's family.
Formal funeral attire is not required.

Committee Nominations for 2026-27
If you're passionate about all things ARC, then getting involved with the Committee is the best way to make a difference and keep our Club great!
Committee Meetings are held monthly - typically 2nd Tuesday of each month.
We work together as a team to get the best outcomes for ARC - check out our Committee Charter
Every committee member is allocated an area of responsibility to lead, promote or co-ordinate.
Enthusiasm and commitment count more than anything, but some particular areas and skills that we're looking for help include:

Book-keeping & accounting
Building maintenance
Grants & sponsorship
Recruitment

Please note:
You need to be an eligible (current/financial) member per the ARC Constitution.
You'll also be required to have a current Working With Children's Check (WWCC) and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training. If you don't have these, don't worry - we will arrange them (no cost to you).
